Today’s Thought: To QR or Not to QR

4 January 2026 • Written by Anja Braeken

Welcome to Paradise!

Before your first choice from my Botanical Bar or your first Lombok Cocktail, a small confession from me, your hosts: Yes … we do have quite a few QR codes around the property. Some guests love them. Some guests pretend they don’t exist. And some treat them like ‘Modern Art’ installations.

I added them simply because there is so much to tell about this beautiful island – its stories, its people, its nature, its quiet secrets. And sometimes, the small window of your phone is enough – a quiet, sustainable choice under our #PaperlessPolicy – to open the widest view.

Scan if you wish.
Ignore them if you don’t.
Either way, your stay with us remains exactly what it should be: unhurried, personal, and full of island light.

TO QR OR NOT TO QR

Here’s The Good News.

QR codes with us at TLL Hospitality are like dessert – completely optional. We introduced them as part of our sustainability program and paperless policy to reduce printing, save resources, and keep our little island paradise just a bit greener. If you enjoy discovering menus, stories, tips, island secrets, and little surprises through your phone, the QR codes are here for you. If you prefer a good old-fashioned conversation, a printed menu, or simply asking our team for everything – we love that too.

Nothing here with us at TLL Hospitality is mandatory.
Except relaxing.

So scan if you wish.
Ignore them if you don’t.
Either way, your stay with us will be just as wonderful.

Now … Your a drink from my Botanical Bar or an exceptional Lombok Cocktail first.
The rest can wait.

DIGITAL DETOX | ISLAND EDITION

Of course, if you prefer a ‘No-Wifi-Is-The-New-Luxury’ kind of holiday – a slower, softer way of travelling – there is absolutely no need to carry your phone around at all.
In the meantime, our brand ambassadors – now nearly 90 beautiful souls – are always more than delighted to share the stories behind the QR codes with you, in the most human way.
And for menu browsing, you’ll find TLLH iPads readily available throughout the property.
So truly, your phone may remain, if you prefer – quietly in your room, enjoying its own little holiday.

SELAMAT DATANG

A complimentary Welcome Coconut & Welcome gift is waiting for you.

At The Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel, you will find yours at the Beach Bar. For our Villa Residents, your Welcome Coconut will be served at The Estate Sunset Theatre.

If you wish, I would be delighted to reserve your coconut moment.
Simply let your host or E-Butler know your preferred time – we will take care of the rest.

Warm island wishes and a beautiful stay.
Enjoy Lombok, and the magic of the Gili Islands.

Anja, with warm regards from Ben
