These tiny creatures may be small, but their impact is mighty. They give us our signature ‘Lombok Liquid Gold’ – a pure, natural honey crafted by the stingless Trigona bees, native to Lombok island. You can now step behind the scenes and discover the secrets of our bee colony in our new educational workshop ‘The Fascinating World of Bees — a delightful 45-minute hands-on experience designed for curious minds and young explorers alike.
Under the guidance of Pak Nyoman, our head beekeeper and his team, you’ll watch our stingless bees in action, explore the inner workings of the hive, and learn how our beloved Madu Raja Trigona Honey / Lombok Liquid Gold is created. No protective gear is needed. Our Trigona bees are gentle and stingless, making this a safe and joyful experience for all ages.

TWO TRIGONA SPECIES AT OUR BEE FARM
Our Liquid Gold is made by the remarkable Trigona bees — small, stingless, and full of personality. Unlike typical honeybees, they produce less honey, but what they do create is exceptionally rich in antioxidants, enzymes, and nutrients. Each hive produces around one liter of honey per year – proof that true luxury takes time.
CLEPYARIS (YELLOW): With bright yellow markings and a sweet-sour taste, they thrive in warm tropical climates.
SAPIEN (BLACK): Darker in color and found in cooler air, their honey carries a deep, tangy richness.

Honey is one of nature’s most stable foods — it never truly expires. To preserve its quality, simply store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. There’s no need to refrigerate it, though it’s perfectly fine if you do.
In fact, even freezing honey won’t harm its natural goodness. It may crystallize over time, but that’s just honey’s way of staying pure — a natural sign of authenticity. To return it to its liquid form, gently warm the jar in a bowl of warm water and let nature’s golden nectar flow again.
So whether kept in your pantry or freezer, your Lombok Lodge Liquid Gold will always be ready to add a touch of tropical sweetness to your day.
HOW DO YOU SUPPORT THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WITH THE BEES?
During our peak seasons, the honey produced at The Estate – from our 30 bee hives at the on-site Bee Farm, each yielding around one liter of honey per year – is not sufficient to meet our demand.
To support local beekeepers and ensure a consistent supply of our signature Lombok Liquid Gold, we partner with Pak Nyoman and other small-scale Trigona farmers from neighboring villages. We purchase their pure honey directly at fair prices, helping to sustain their livelihoods and encourage traditional beekeeping practices.
Through this collaboration, we not only uphold our commitment to local sustainability but also empower the community’s micro-economy while preserving the art of Trigona honey production on Lombok Island.
