Long ago, in a tranquil corner of Medana Bay, lived Mendana, a humble farmer known for his healing hands and kind heart. People journeyed from far and wide seeking his gift — to cure pain, ease sorrow, and restore balance.

As his life drew to a close, Mendana shared his final teachings — lessons of harmony, compassion, and renewal. He foretold that after his passing, mysterious stones would rise from the sea, each carrying a message for those willing to listen.

True to his words, two stones emerged:
A cow-shaped stone, symbolising strength and perseverance.
A fish-shaped stone, representing flow, change, and the eternal rhythm of life.

Both remain to this day, silent yet powerful, reminding us that the ocean holds not just beauty, but wisdom.

Visible only at low tide, the Whispering Fish Stone rests in front of The Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel, shimmering gently beneath the sun.
It reminds us that life, like the sea, is ever-changing — and peace lies in flowing with it.

Mendana’s spirit endures not only in these stones, but also at Makam Medana, his final resting place. Known locally as Raden Wira Dana, he is remembered as a guardian of compassion and a teacher of spiritual wisdom.

This sacred site welcomes pilgrims of all faiths — Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism — who come to honor a man whose message transcended religion and time.
Here, the boundaries between rich and poor, young and old, fade away, leaving only unity, reverence, and peace.

Located just a five-minute walk from The Lombok Lodge Boutique Hotel, the Makam Medana stands as a timeless symbol of harmony — where hearts meet beyond belief.
